Nordmeccanica welcoming industry to North American Innovation Hub

On September 2, 2026, Nordmeccanica will host a technical event dedicated to sustainable flexible packaging.

Nordmeccanica will open the doors to its North American Innovation Hub on September 2, 2026. The facility, located in Hauppauge, NY, USA, will feature a technical event dedicated to sustainable flexible packaging.

Nordmeccanica will host the event alongside industry partners Henkel and Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H). The companies will demonstrate new technologies and conduct live lamination demonstrations designed to support the transition toward more sustainable packaging. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network and discuss real-world applications that can help drive innovation and profitability.

“Throughout the event, guests will see live demonstrations of Nordmeccanica equipment in production, including paper/MetPET and mono-PE lamination, while learning about the latest market trends, material developments, and converting solutions,” explains Alex Bullock, technical sales manager, Nordmeccanica. “The Nordmeccanica Innovation Hub was created to serve as a technology center for converters throughout North America. The facility provides customers with the opportunity to evaluate new applications, conduct product trials, optimize processes, and collaborate directly with our technical team before making investment decisions.”

Nordmeccanica serves as a specialist in coating, laminating, and metallizing technology. Plus, the company’s equipment has been installed in many of the world’s leading converting facilities. The equipment on display at the open house has been designed to help customers maximize productivity, quality, and sustainability.

“We look forward to welcoming converters, brand owners, and industry partners for a day focused on innovation, collaboration, and the future of flexible packaging,” says Bullock.

Growth in flexible packaging

As label converters seek new ways to grow their business, Nordmeccanica is showcasing the capabilities available in flexible packaging. However, entering flexible packaging requires more than purchasing equipment. In addition to equipment, Nordmeccanica provides technical support and application knowledge needed to help converters successfully enter this growing market while minimizing risk.

“The flexible packaging market continues to experience strong growth, creating exciting opportunities for label converters looking to diversify their business,” remarks Bullock. “Many converters already have relationships with brand owners who are expanding into pouches and other flexible packaging formats, making this a natural evolution.

“Success depends on selecting the right technology partner with proven expertise in materials, adhesives, process optimization, and application development,” he adds.

The industry is evolving rapidly as converters continue to explore new growth opportunities. They do so with sustainability, performance, and efficiency in mind.

“Events like this allow converters to see how these trends can be translated into practical manufacturing solutions,” states Bullock. “Whether attendees are already active in flexible packaging or are exploring opportunities to enter the market, the Nordmeccanica Innovation Hub offers a unique opportunity to learn from industry leaders, evaluate the latest technologies, and gain valuable insights that can help shape their future growth.”

Expansion in North America

North America remains one of Nordmeccanica’s most strategic markets. The company’s goal is to strengthen its partnerships with converters by providing local technical expertise, application development, and demonstration capabilities that support innovation and faster project development. “The Innovation Hub demonstrates our long-term commitment to the North American market by giving customers direct access to our technology, engineering resources, and technical support,” says Bullock. “Rather than simply selling equipment, we aim to become a trusted technology partner that helps customers solve challenges and develop new business opportunities.”
